Chillingo, the Macclesfield-based mobile gaming specialist, has been bought by Electronic Arts in a deal said to be worth some $20m by industry analysts.

The firm is primarily known as the publisher of the phenomenally successful Angry Birds game, which has sold more than 7m units for the iPhone and was downloaded more than 1m times in its first 24 hours of availability for competing smartphone platforms earlier this year.
