Volkswagen Commercial: The Force

In the Volkswagen commercial seen here, we get two things that instantly grab attention: a little kid and Star Wars.

Now we all know that young Anakin Skywalker, the boy who eventually becomes the evil Darth Vader, was an emotional and impulsive young Jedi who always felt his powers were superior.

He may have had a point, considering he was composed entirely of midi-chlorians and surpassed even Master Yoda on the charts, but that does not excuse him from his later sins or give him a pass for his constant attitude as a Padawan learner; that is beside the point though.

With the famous Star Wars music in the background, we see a youngster dressed as Vader trying to use his Force powers unsuccessfully around the house before his father returns home—in the all-new Volkswagen Passat, no less.

As Vader dashes outside and shoos away his father's embrace in a typical Vader rage, he tries one last time to use the Force on the car in the driveway.

His powers work, to his knowledge, as his father clicks the buttons on the key from inside the house.

With the young Vader's anger subsided, we can be sure that his new best friend will certainly be the Volkswagen Passat that he has the power to control.

I do not drive a Passat, or a Volkswagen for that matter, but I'll certainly look kindly on anything that incorporates Star Wars with such passion.
