Sara Lee is considering splitting the company into two, separating its meats business from its European coffee business as takeover discussions with Brazilian meat company JBS have stalled.
People familiar with the matter said that there had been no definitive end to talks with JBS, after conversations last month in which Sara Lee expressed dissatisfaction with the valuation on offer from the Brazilian company.
